The committee held a meeting at the association's office the previous day and reviewed the list of 30 candidates proposed by Fernando Morales, the coach of the Korean women's team. The committee plans to confirm the list of 16 finalists through an additional meeting in early April.

He also added, "As this year's international competition is important, we plan to not include only too young players in the national team, but give the overall weight."

The women's national team will play the first week of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from May 29, and participate in the 2025 Korea International Women's Competition in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, from August 12.

Morales, who entered the country on the 16th, is touring the V League stadium to check on the players. Hyundai Engineering & Construction's middle blocker Lee Da-hyun and Korea Expressway Corporation's rookie setter Kim Dae-eun are mentioned as candidates for the convocation.

Coach Lee Na-ye Ramirez of the Korean men's national team is also monitoring the players after arriving in Korea on Wednesday. "We want to see who will be able to play at the international level.
